LOVED HIM! A life changing prof but just note he really isnt for everyone… Half of our block loved him the other half hates him 😂 But tbh he really taught so much about the topic, you can easily tell how passionate he is about Theo!more

LOVED HIM! Try to ask good questions in class and ALWAYS DO YOUR CANVAS QUIZZES! (you can retake as many times as you can) - also try to remember the questions from these quizzes because they might pop up in the long test!more

best theo 11 prof!!! you’ll learn so much because he teaches very enthusiastically. he’ll give a bunch of readings and ur good to go if u understand them. he’s specific tho when it comes to papers and stuff. he grades fair naman tho.more

His requirements on the first half of the sem is harder than the second half. Take the former seriously and you should be good

He’s pretty good, may mood swings lang nga. Read his readings. You’ll definitely learn a lot from him as long as you keep up with the pace ng readings. He takes his requirements very seriously and he’s very specific with the content that he wants. Kaya make sure you listen carefully. He’s not strict naman with like eating in class or whatever but DO NOT use your phone in class and also put it on silent. Overall, i loved his class and he’s one of the nicest profs out there, just don’t take advantage of him or piss him off in any waymore

he is very strict about attendance and bringing your readings to class and your phone ringing! his lectures are often all from his modules (as in word for word, he memorizes it hehe). his tests are always objective but for our last few long exams, he let us have cheat sheets. i found the class really nice! it allows you to reflect on a lot of things :DDmore

This response might be explosive but, anyway, I'll say this: sometimes, you're not always in the same theological plane with the other person. I restructured the conditional clause to make it clear that it's the sources that give him discomfort rather than the person. Thank you for the correction.more

Hhmmm..., related to that. Ok, I'll give some anecdote. I forgot what reporting topic I had with my groupmates, I think it's issues with distributing the Communion. I used the CCC to explain my point. When he evaluated us before the class, he expressed reservations (at least) with the CCC. He spoke along the lines that the CCC is not applicable in our geographical (i.e. Philippine) and temporal context, despite it being the official catechism for church-wide use, and suggested that we use CFC instead. Hence, my reminder regarding Catholic sources.more

so late but my he’s been my fave prof to date! (ily sir badion) his lectures were very very interesting and it made it so that even someone who wasn’t religious like me could still take away A LOT from his class. he’s super knowledgeable (to the point na your headings are gonna be solely handouts that he himself wrote) so you’re def in good hands. he’s very progressive and open-minded and it’s clear he cares abt the classes he teaches. i hear he changes his reqs on a bi-sem basis but overall his workload is pretty moderate i would say. in my experience, he had 3 modules with 2-3 online quizzes (unli re-takes) and a project each. the projects were fun for the most part (esp his faith narrative! you just yap about your own personal journey). you also have a written mid-term thats highkey a beast (as in you have to write at light speed if you wanna finish on time) but if you study it’s very easy since it’s a very straight forward for the most part. there’s a final oral/written (12 thesis statements, you randomly get one to discuss) which is pretty daunting but u get to bring an annotated thesis statements paper w u so u dont have to worry much! overall, i rly vouch for sir. if you don’t want to put in any effort he’s not for u because he def isn’t an easy A. but if you’re looking for a manageable class that you’ll actually enjoy, i highly recommend sir’s class :]]more

I took Sir Badion’s class like four yrs ago. He required us to buy a module/book for theo 11 which we used the whole semester. Most of the time, he would just lecture what’s in the module but with detailed explanations. In terms of requirements, we had quizzes, long exams, final orals and a paper. - Quizzes were objective and mostly from the lecture. Usually announced, but there were surprise quizzes along the way🥹 So please don’t cut and come to class early bc he sometimes locks the door for late comers😭 - Long exams were mostly objective with a bit of short essay. Just review the module and study your notes, then you are goods already. - For final orals, he gave the thesis statements prior to our exam. He also allowed us to bring cheat sheets. - For the paper, I forgot what exactly the content but it’s more on spiritual journey. Overall, I would recommend Sir Badion. He is very passionate with Theology, and you’ll learn a lot from him. He also respects your spiritual belief. Also, A-ble to B+ with effort.🫶more

Took sir last school year! He really knows the content well + very passionate niya magturo, quizzes require you to speed browse the handouts but u can repeat until you perfect them. He allows cheat sheet for oral/written exams. His class is one of the best classes I had ever taken! Just make sure you follow his citation style (emphasis to this!!!) and his rubrics. :>more

watch his pokemon swsh series on YouTube and you'll get an idea on how he lectures A-able if you follow his citation format (like legit everything he could make ur A to a B+ for a small preventable mistake) and read and cite the readings (theres a lot but there are a few emphasized ones)more

Very meticulous, especially in the paper. Even some little errors may incur considerable deductions. Remember: the Turabian citation format is ought to be respected in the class. It's inviolable. Well, he'll actually allot a session just to teach how to use it, since, fairly speaking, it's rarely used. I find the Havrutah activities (basically triad group activities) interesting and helpful. If utilized well, these can pull your grades up. Afaik, there was an extra Havrutah activity in my time that can be used to make up whatever is low in your gradesheet. Make the most of your reporting assignment, which is the most important Havrutah activity. Whatever you will present you will give him a copy at least the night before. If you present material absent in his copy, he'll be dismayed. I did that in my group report and that caused us some deductions. Moreover, if you are well-versed in things Catholic (more than the usual Atenean level) making you aware of which Catholic source to quote, note that even offiical documents as authoritative as the Catechism of the Catholic Church may give him discomfort. Don't get to his bad side, though. Never annoy him by using your cellphone to read your readings. I tell you - he'll be very pissed. Once he catches you, you'll spend the rest of the session outside. My first ever long test with him was the most horrible, where he asked not the meaning and essence of the concepts but on who said those. Quizzes are pass-able if you have read the material well. The length is manageable for a college student. He does write a big NO on a paper or an answer sheet when he notices something wrong in whatever is written. Do take advantage of asking him questions you think are essential. He'll be glad answering your questions, as he loves discussing a lot. He's not a scatterbrain. In fact, he makes himself as organized as possible. Just learn to follow him, especially by familiarizing yourself with the readings. From time to time, he'll announce quizzes based on some of the readings. Encourage one another to recite or he'll lose appetite teaching you. He's kinda moody. Enjoy his enthusiasm in teaching. I tell you: you'll enjoy his company, AS LONG AS he's not in a bad mood, or rather, you or your class caused him that (though sometimes, it just happens for reasons undisclosed to us...or it really just happens). I remember a friend from another class of him, which was held after mine, telling me that it was not once when he lambasted his class not only once for not being active, and unhelpful psychology-wise, compared them with us many times. His disappointment even went up to the point that he did walk out. And pardon me: It's Badion. PS. At times, he leads a Kahoot game to review the class for an upcoming big test. Enjoy... But please act properly.more

Absolutely phenomenal. Made me fall in love with Theo. In fact, he’s the reason why I seriously want to pursue teaching Theology as a career. (I’ll just add more detailed things later HAHA im tired 😂)more

To be fair, I think his issue with the CCC was just purely preferential. That is, the analyses on the Philippine experience are more nuanced and more clearly articulated in the CFC—and not at all an aversion for the CCC. I was his groupmate in that presentation! This is what I remember, at least.more
