update for future purposes: - the best nga 🧡 11/10 would take again - profs who actually teach >>> - very fun and engaging yung lectures, may natututunan talaga - easier to absorb yung lessons dahil sa examples/applications - less (to none) math and more on concepts - very passionate, maiinspire ka to do more for others (at na yumaman ahahaha) - relatable, approachable, inaabangan namin cutie quirky socks niya (at pagmumura, with love, sa klase HAHAHA) - A-able pero syempre with effort sa written midterms (mult choice, graphing) and orals finals (given na yung possible questions beforehand) - basta ito yung klase na nalulungkot pa ko pag nag ring na yung bell - the class was so good that i'm now considering taking a minor in econ - take him!more

I had R Lance Chua for SoSc 13 and he is one of those profs that you really learn from not because of his lectures but the discussions you can have during them! While he at first mentioned that he'll only read from slides during synchs his class turned really socratic in the sense that we got to hear opinions from students of all walks of life. And that really was fun! His assessments involved writing papers and actually getting out there and donating/interviewing numerous staff (so be prepared to spend a little for that sake!). This is among a written midterms and finals orals. Since Econ110 will be more quantitative and form the basis of your economics knowledge take this with a grain of salt. Since SocSc 13 is much more conceptual in nature I don't know how he is teaching all the numbers stuff, but I'll still vouch for him as a person and mentor. Grades-wise B-B+ able but it may be a diff story for Econ 110 since its probs harder.more

Had Sir R. Lance for ECON 110 - GOAT! His discussions are fairly straightforward; he includes a lot of basic examples to break down what's happening. Our workload was fairly light: five reflection papers (spaced out across the semester), an objective midterms exam (multiple choice + graphing basic supply and demand curves), and an oral finals. His grading is fairly generous so long as you grasp the core concepts of the subject. I would say the reflection papers are probably the best part of the class; he really makes it a point to make you do certain projects (ex. talking to security guards/maintenance stuff about the idea of a baon subsidy) that make the experience more personal. He always emphasizes how important it is to connect the technical concepts we study to the realities of the world right now, and I imagine that will be even more evident in SocSc 13. Take him!more

very genuine teacher. the reqs are doable, and the midterms (written) and finals (indiv oral) are a-able with enough effort. he has very amusing examples (which uses students’ names 🤣) to dumb down the concepts naman. TIP! show that you’re putting effort and that you’re enthusiastic to learn. he has a soft spot for curious, engaged, and socially-aware students :))))more

had him for last intersession! (around exactly a yr ago) he was really considerate and workload was light but you'll still learn a lot in class ❤️ gives relatable examples in his lectures and is good with questions in class.. good for those who already have basic econ understanding and great for beginners would recommend! B+ able, maybe even A ps classic millenial, took film photos of us since he's into photog and gave them to us at end of intersession :>more

hi, i'm his beadle and he'll change the way you think about yourself after whatever hell organic chemistry gave you ^__^ [1] DELIVERY: hinihimay niya talaga yung topics + his slides are super reliable. hindi na ako nagbasa sa reading material at all, nagtiwala na lang ako sa slides + quiz + lectures. it's super helpful that he uploads lecture videos, lalo na noong suspensions, to supplement his slides. [2] QUIZZES: mostly multiple choice, some are identification. some require very basic calculation, more on analysis ka talaga. you can use calculators naman ^__^ to ace the quizzes, you need a good grasp of the lectures. go through the slides, read the words carefully kasi the stuff that you usually ignore, yun pa yung lalabas, even the smallest details. you have to rely on your recall and memorization talaga. PLUS he discusses the answers with the class right after submitting the quiz. That way, alam mo agad score mo and alam mo agad what's the right way to think of the problem. many quiz items are similar to long exam items. [3] ATTENDANCE: he does not take attendance but I suggest attending 100% of his onsite lectures. sobrang malaman at step-by-step ang approach. if you're lost especially about gen chem and org chem topics, hindi ka niya ipapahiya. [4] COMMUNICATION: mabagal mag-reply sa email regarding make up test schedules or if asynch ba or synch. He shifted to async mode a few times during the transport strike, especially if nakiusap yung beadle, pero madaling-araw na in-announce sa Canvas He has the tendency to stick with the admin's decision tho [5] 3 LONG EXAMS + FINAL EXAM: to ace, go through the slides again and again. memorize a lot of stuff. draw (amino acids) and practice cyclization (sugars). analyze grpahs, compute a few small numbers. He will not include modules that were not discussed irl (even if he posted the slides and video lectures on Canvas). each long exam covers usually 2 modules. [6] GRADING: very fair. 20% quizzes, 55% for the 3 long exams, and 25% for the final exam.. he returns naman pretty much on time (?) I got an A. He is A-able, please huwag niyong sayangin si doc hehehemore
