He seems grumpy at first but if you show consistent effort he rewards you for it. We had a bit of trouble with planting but we regularly consulted and thoroughly documented our progress kaya we were still able to get a high final grade even if our plants weren't exactly thriving. Emphasis on thorough documentation. Get good groupmates! Bonus if you have friends in the class kasi you can compare the content of your lab reports to make sure you didn't forget anything. B+ or A-able with effort.more

Parang grade school teacher lang in my opinion, so go through his powerpoint presentations, and listen well in class then you're good to go! Or else you'd have to study the entire book for the finals.more

Strongly disliked this prof. He gives quizzes immediately after discussion so, for people with a bad memory, even if you listen in class you're sure to get a low score on the quiz. He also didn't tell us that finals would be departmental (he didn't discuss anything from the book the entire semester) so we were forced to read the entire book within less than a week. He also only told us who's exempted from finals as we were taking the final exam (as a surprise I guess but, to me, it was frustrating and he just wasted my time because I spent a lot of it trying to cram the entire book into a few days just to find out I'm exempted from finals). He knows a lot about what he's teaching but that also means he gets side tracked trying to "showcase his talent" and tell you many different scientific names for things. As for the video project, its not very difficult in my opinion but we all had to drive to different places to film which cost a lot of effort and money yet he'll subtract points for things like "small font" or "white font".
Tip: Take down notes while he discusses so you can remember all the terms he's going to give. These terms like scientific names will surely be part of the quiz after discussion. Definitely A-able. PERO BURAT PA RIN YUNG SURPRISE EXEMPTION 10 CHAPTERS IN ONE NIGHTmore

Not an easy prof imo. A or B-able naman siya if you really work hard for it. Be prepared though since he teaches ES without referring much to the book. That's why you have to listen attentively in class and take down notes. Pay close attention to the scientific terms he's giving because he gives a lot of surprise tests after his lectures and those terms are the contents. Group works mej hassle because he really likes interesting presentations and will also make you do out of the box videos. Me and my group ended up in Avalon Zoo just to film some content for our video. A lot of memorization is key pagdating sa quizzes niya but if you study hard enough and get good scores before the end of the sem you'll be exempted from taking the finals. Please go for the exemption because finals is departmental and you'll need to study the entire book if you have to take it. Since you won't be using the book that much in his class it's not worth cramming everything in the book just for the finals. Recite a lot also in his class. All in all his lectures are pretty detailed, his quizzes are more of objective based, his group works and projects are kinda hassle but with enough work and patience kayang kaya naman. If you don't want to be really burdened for ES tho try another prof.more

Honestly, his quizzes and seatworks last sem were pretty easy. Just take notes to remember stuff he says because he doesn't use the book. Also reciting a lot helps. He exempted almost everyone in our class for the final though so we really didn't need the book at all. Definitely A-able.more

Definitely A-able! Heavy on memorization, gives a quiz after every lecture, didn't teach us everything on the course outline last semester though so we had to self-study a bitmore

Estelle Louise David HAHHAHAHAHA good groupmates!

Estelle Louise David vouch! In my class he was generous with grades as long as you put in the effort of being precise and comprehensive w ur reports, thus why having good groupmates will really help hehe! but aside from that he’s really fine, I’ll say he’s not the most engaging sa lectures, but definitely A able since the activities are somewhat easy to go about if you understand the instructions!more

Same thing I said sa last post - he gave us two weeks to study the entire book for finals bc he didn't teach it so please loadrev haha

Honestly, just study hard so that you'll get exempted. Sobrang di worth it aralin yung book sa kanya for finals. Quizzes kaya kasi usually 10pts lang siya and after ng discussion so listen dapat, pero kasi surprise so hassle. LTs sobrang kaya, madali lang if you study. Never cut because he gives out subtractions because of it. Recite para sipsip. Projects hassle pero mataas naman ata siya mamigay. Pero sobrang kaya mag A sa kanya!!more

took him for lab during ay 2023-2024 and i agree that consistent effort = reward in his class. it doesnt matter if your plants thrive or not, what matters to him is how you document your progress and analyze any growth.
he can be very confusing with his instructions at times though and is somewhat of a nonchalant prof lol, but not necessarily a terror. hes also medyo lutang rin but maybe that was just me.
tips to get an A in his class:
1) documentation is yes very important, make sure your records of your plants are up to date.
2) be organized with your outputs and pay attention to the formatting.
3) double-check your lab reports; it’s best if you have someone in the class that you can compare reports with to be sure you didnt miss anything.
4) i cannot emphasize this enough, GET GOOD GROUPMATES. make sure youre all consistent with the effort youre putting in since this can become a very heavy subject if your groupmates are the deadbeat, slacking type.more

- sir is very…nonchalant LOL so don’t make him repeat the instructions because he could just gaslight you
- have to figure out what to write on the lab reports on ur own
- JUST MANAGE UR TIME!! And all will be okmore
