Honestly didn’t have a bad experience with him. Previous reviews said he’s rather boring but while he may crack some dry jokes in class he’s not bad at teaching by any means. Provides you with everything you need to answer his tests and models the exams after his reviewers which gives you a good idea of what to expect. Just don’t hope for a very hands-on teacher because that’s not what he is. Overall A-able with effort but it requires self-determination outside of class hours to truly appreciare the course.more

pass. while he's nice, his class can get very boring. he can get quite condescending at times, as well. his class is pure concept and very by the book. he provides practice exams and his questions repeat in the real exam. grading is okay with him, a-able naman. pero if you have a choice, wag na.
He's very A-able. I didn't get an A but i really should have. With some effort an A is likely. He should be able to explain Ec102 fine given his simple teaching style. He didn't seem very numbers oriented in money and banking last sem at puro concept lang. chill class. Pwede na for 102. You could do much much worse hahamore

If you want to genuinely learn economics, would def. pick sir Dumlao bc he really knows what he teaches + gives good examples. One of the few “justifiably” terror profs I kinda enjoyed learning from.

Essentially he grades you by the ff: 1 Midterm (including “the average” of an optional makeup midterm), 1 final exam, and “recitation”
For the midterms, he already gives a list of questions before the start of the semester (same goes with the finals/make up midterms once the midterms r over) — However, only 2 RANDOM questions will be picked out of the list. Nerve-racking and tbh a bit disappointing esp sa finals, when the questions I picked weren’t from the post-midterms list.
Grading:
He explicitly says in the beginning that he curves because a lot of people score low in his tests (he doesn’t hide it). Recitation is based on the average/highest between (I forgot na Haha) the finals + the midterms (including the makeup), not on whether or not you actually recite (he calls randomly naman). Honestly a tip would be to familiarize yourself with the concepts and not just memorize the question’s answers bc you really do not know what q you will get + the latter is more tiring
Overall, easy C/C+; it’s really the questions that’ll dictate your grademore

Same with Don. He was also my EC 113 prof. It's his second sem of teaching pa lang, so it will be his first time teaching 102.
His lectures are very by the book, with some insights/examples from his own. He tries to engage his class by opening opportunities to gain 'participation points' which are cumulative. Most of his questions are even answerable by a 'Yes or No' where he would call almost everyone. You also don't have to worry about the slides because he uploads them beforehand in his site (he'll tell you about this at the start). It's good to print them so that you can add additional notes there (comes in handy esp. when reviewing for the LTs).
Adding to his exam style, most, if not all, multiple choice questions are found in the complete study guide of the book you'll be using (just search for it over the internet). You really just need to familiarize with the concepts beforehand to be prepared before the test. He also has computations in there, but they are very similar/patterned to his in-class participation (seatworks) which are done by pairs. He returns this immediately so you can review them as well and see if you had mistakes.
He encourages having study groups/study buddy for his LT to prepare which I think is helpful; although, it really depends upon you.
Overall, I had a good time in his class. He really engages with everyone and he even remembers our nicknames (most of the time haha). He is also accommodating to our questions/concerns. To do well in his class, you have to listen in his discussions (he sometimes makes flow charts, say the effect of dollar valuation to GDP of other countries, etc) + read the slides/book + prepare for his LTs (which are fairly do-able :) ).

He's my prof in Ec 113. His exam style is usually composed of multiple choice questions, short-response objective questions, and problem solving. He provides sample long exam,which I think is very helpful since most of the questions there are complete duplicate of what will appear in the actual LT, at least 4-5 days prior to the exam date.
Regarding his teaching style, Ledesma is quite good but sometimes the class gets really boring especially when he explains the nitty gritty of the technical part of the lecture (or maybe because of the 3hr saturday class we had).
I'm not sure how his style is in Ec 102.

nicee! had him for ec113 2 sems ago! he's boring and strict. he's like the typical high school teacher that sticks to the rules. you can't go out of the classroom unless it's break time and can't use your phone. if you're expecting a call, you have to tell him in advance. he allows snacks though if it's a 3 hour class
he makes you print handouts he made which are based from the book so you don't really have to read it na. just add notes from what he says on the handouts. helpful lang to read the book if you're confused with some concepts and the book we used had summaries at the end of the chapter so it helped with reviewing
he gives reviewers too, before lts which are helpful bec some of the questions in the reviewer come out in the test so you can get a high score.
recite a lot because he records it since it's part of your grade.
