Def knows his stuff because he’s a lawyer himself! Just read the cases beforehand and familiarize yourself with the concepts in case he randomly calls you in class HAHAHA tests are essay type and it calls for the application of lessons! A good prof with fun personality and jokes but yun lang you wouldn’t know your standing until release of grades hahahuhumore

Last sem, he only had one class scheduled, which was at 8 in the morning! Given that, you have to do your best to get into the classroom by that time because he does take note of attendance. It’s apparently important, so try not to use up your cuts for this class. Or to fall asleep in his class. He’ll remember you for it 😶more

Black cat energy. She’s lowkey funny but hated her standards in essays and stuff. A lot of readings but attending class always feels like a group discussion so as someone who is not a big reciter it was hell lol. Topics are lowkey redundant din but i guess that’s socsci HAHSHSHHAAHmore

Took his class and it was very intense. I'd say he's one of the strict profs that I enjoyed recently. He isn't strict just because he was power tripping, he just genuinely enjoy order. For his class, sync classes are recorded and the cut system is being followed. You're either present, late, or absent. If you're absent, you'll need to present an excuse letter before or after your absence. If he notices that a lot of the class is absent, he'll give out bonus grades, so make sure to attend all of his classes. His lessons are manageable if you exert the effort. He wants you to read the readings before his classes, and you really should because he will call on people randomly. He takes note of the people he calls randomly because he also grades recitation. He teaches well, and his PowerPoints are usually easy to follow. For his tests, our beadle really had to fight for it not to be a sync examination. So if he suggests that, make sure to tell him that the recent memos don't allow professors to do that. All the exams are essay type, and only have five questions. Some are easy, the kind that you only need your stock knowledge to answer them, but some will make you read back to all of your lessons. Answer fast tho, because you only have 2-3 hours to answer them. In terms of his workload, I'd say it's manageable? We only had to pass 2 reqs every month, and there's also 3 reportings you have to do with your groupmates about a case. B able if you exert the work in and recite in his class.more

You will literally not know what your grade will be until grades actually come out because he doesn't return tests at all HAHA His questions have the same voice and style as bar exams, no joke. Puro essay mga tests niya ofc. He has a soft voice and he's generally usually in a good mood. Just be responsible with reading the materials and cases and you'll get a decent grade, around a B. If you're the Beadle, PROVIDE A LAPTOP OR FACE WRATH. I love Dr. Candelaria he's such a dad rin like he also let us watch a movie and eat in his class for that one day :3 just pls provide a laptop and read Cc Jayvee del Rosariomore

update after taking his class, its all about acting appropriately and showing effort, it doesn’t have to be a lot of effort but please show that you take his class seriously. I placed a good amount of effort and creativity for the creative project and it is what sold him to give me an A :))more

NOT A-ABLE. B+ MAYBE with super high level effort. Maybe she was different for previous classes but she was a low grader for SOCSC13. TBH I expected to get a decent grade at the end of the sem bc all of the grades that got given back to me werent low, but i was proven wrong! Feedback was minimal, and sometimes its very nitpicky. She’s also not considerate if youre late even by a minute, as in the moment the roll call is finished and u arrive, u are still considered late with a half cut. No gadgets and long ppt slides so expect ur hand to hurt a lot during class. My tip is to recite a lot bc shes more likely to give u a higher grade if she remembers u apparently.more

I took her first year and idk she was sakto lang for me,, puro essays and likes class discussions from the readings plus was A-able (tho this was online idk abt onsite). Dont go to her class without reading the readings. She takes attendance seriously as far as i remember.more

Had her for socsc 11 and 12 (both online). IIRC she gives heavy readings per module and you rlly need to read them because she randomly calls people for recit + you have to apply all of ur readings to your papers. Her readings are amazing tho and until now i still use them as references 🥹 Ma’am really pushes u to try and be more analytical w ur papers which I really appreciate. I love her sm that shes the one i asked for teacher recommendations 😆 TLDR read and annotate the readings + recite (for her to remember u) shes def A-able with effortt!! goodluck and hope u enjoy the class 🥰more

not sure why everyone who had her in socsc 11 & 12 says she is A-able or fun, but do not take her if you have the choice ahah socsc 13 (integrated with nstp) was one of the worst classes of my life. although she does know her stuff, her teaching methods need improvement as she started out with average powerpoints to completely just copy-pasting parts of the reading & just reading from the PPTs. she's unfair with attendance as even if you are even 30 SECONDS LATE from when ur name is called (even if you're there before she even starts the first sentence of her lecture), she'll mark you late, which is an equivalent of a half-cut. her requirements are minimum and not too heavy, but she has 2 long tests (1 for 2 modules each). she didn't curve bc she claimed there was one student who did too good that she couldn't even help adjust the other grades. she has no consultations and gives little to no feedback to summarize - she's strict with attendance and participation - need to read all readings beforehand. the lectures are usually free-flowing but sometimes it goes on for so long that it's not even very important to the lectures sooo hope you don't have yapper classmates - will give you a half-cut even if you're 1 minute late (she doesn't follow the 15-minute rule) - no gadgets allowed - PPTs are just paragraphs from readings & she won't send copies - does pop quizzes if she's in a bad mood - grades low esp with nstp requirements lol - no feedbackmore

[socsci 13] A-able, but please do your readings and treat the FIOs like research papers (quite fun, actually) Assessments are friendly enough--just do your readings. Very fun prof whom you'd get along with, if you prefer the less-coddled University setup (which is good, considering independence, &c.)more

not a-able but she’s a really good prof and you’ll definitely learn a lot from her! just prepare for the readings before class since she bases off her synch lessons there and always asks you to share your thoughts about it for points. her LTs were a bit tricky especially the essay portion (she annotates like every other line lol) and sometimes her grading can get quite confusing too my tip is to always recite/participate, pass reqs on time because she really deducts points from late submissions, and try to make her remember youmore
