Anonymous member 129 if u're grade conscious and lack endurance, coach mac will be a problem cause I think you're the batch where PE grades are counted in the QPI. If not, take him. You'll learn the strokes if you take the class seriously, you'll learn how to swim, and you'll not die. The real challenge is on how you can master, or at least perform with the right movements, the STROKES and BREATHING given the short amount of time. Kasi performing them skillfully will make the assessments ez pzmore

I took him in basketball last semester. Even if you make a mistake...in the end he will commend you for making an effort to improve your skills. Overall, despite whatever PE you took under him, he's a GOAT prof.more

Tbh as long as you recite, study the reference and consult if you're confused then you'd be fine. Ma'am only got mad for us when we were noisy, didn't recite or failed to recall basic concepts. I'd say easy B/B+ but A-able with effortmore

Long exams. For us we had to study 4 chapters of the text book that she did not discuss during the final exam. However, all you need to do is just study in advance and make flashcards.more

currently taking this class rn reqs wise - HEAVY af but manageable (he gives the following reqs below) - 3 discussion boards - 2 bonus reflection papers (which youd need to attend the talks to do) - 5 short essays (so far) - 2 major requirements (1 midterm and 1 final paper) - 1 group presentation - most essays requires an application of any framework/theory to exemplify the points made - grading wise: you definitely need to exert effort to get a grade higher than 85 - he grades fair naman but he only gives high if he thinks you deserve it sir as a prof/class proper itself - its a very chill class - theres a seating arrangement (you can choose where you sit then the beadle will submit the seating arrangement to him but he doesnt really use it much) - beadle is in charge of attendance - you can choose your groups for the group presentation - most of the time sir just yaps about the topics with occasional supplementary videos - theres also a few guest lecturers sometimes (when sir gets busy) but its interesting because the guest lecturer we had showcased acupuncture (a few classmates got a free acupuncture session) overall, you'll learn a lot if you're really interested/passionate about the topic but otherwise it might be difficult. i wouldnt say this is an easy A class but rather an easy B-B+ with effortmore

Had sir Ang for 2nd Sem 2024-2025 (am a graduating senior) but I really enjoyed his class! Pros: Sir is super passionate about the topics discussed and is very knowledgeable about global issues and the involvements of China as a world power today. For reqs, Many of them were quite easy as long as you do your research and follow his recommendations (send him your drafts and he will tell you how to improve). Major reqs were 2 essays that he gives the prompts for at the start of the sem and one group reporting which is about any topic that involves China’s tech and innovation. Sir also has fun activities in class to simulate some of the scenarios China went through (he gives free food during this haha) Sir also doesn’t seem to really count attendance and he gives unlimited cuts for Deans listers. Cons: Sirs lectures aren’t that engaging if you don’t find the topics interesting but he really appreciates recitation. For the essay reqs he recommends using a framework of sorts to structure the paper but he isn’t super clear on examples so sometimes you have to just find a framework online. Class won’t be super interesting if you aren’t interested in global topics and China’s development as a country/ involvement as a global power. Class topics: Science and Tech in Chinese history and past, some of the developments made during significant eras (dynasties, mao, current), Notable developments in the current decade for China and issues happening right now. TLDR: If you like the topics then you will do really well and enjoy the class. If you don’t, as long as you do your research and take note of some key concepts then you’ll be fine. Easy B+/A id say as long as you don’t submit anything late, do the right research and recite once in a while. Got an A from him and would definitely recommend!more

Hiii I was sir’s beadle last semester so here’s my take hehe Sir Ang is super passionate about the topics and really knows his stuff—especially on China’s role in the world today. Most of the requirements are straightforward if you do proper research and follow his suggestions. He’s generous with feedback, so send your drafts early and he’ll help you improve. Major requirements include: • Two essays (prompts given at the start of the sem) • One group report on anything related to China’s tech/innovation There are also fun simulation activities (he gives food during these!), and he doesn’t strictly check attendance. Dean’s Listers even get unlimited cuts. Cons: If you’re not into China/global politics, the lectures might feel a bit dry. He encourages using frameworks for essays, but he’s not always clear about what kind, so you might need to look for examples online. Class really depends on your interest in the subject—if it’s not your thing, it can drag a bit. Also, there’s no quiz or anything so it might feel boring if ur not participating or interested talaga Overall, I liked the class so i recommend it!! Easy A siya talaga❤️more

Yey, he's back! I'm not sure how he will treat the new class because he just came from a health concern (kaya nasa table tennis siya for the past sems). Pero from our class (all male), it was challenging. It is beginner friendly, yes. Actually, I was not a beginner but literal noob, but after taking him I can now flex freestyles, backstrokes, and butterflies (but are still bad forms). It was challenging because compared to other swimming sections, we had the most demanding assessments. 1. Midterm is a 20 laps freestyle under 20 mins 2. Finals is a 4 laps with each lap having different strokes under 4 mins. If you got like 20:01 or 4:01, that'a already an F. But surprise surprise, I got F on both assessments. I took a makeup exam (where I performed both assessments lol), I performed better, but still failed because I was overtime for around 3 secs. Surprise surprise, I got a B!more

I was his beadle for table tennis last semester and all I can say is that he's got that tito vibes that will make you enjoy his classes (for me at least). He's also very lenient with deadlines, and he only assigned us 2 asynchronous canvas quizzes. He gives is these tasks usually 2 to 3 weeks before the deadline so you'll have plenty of time to accomplish them. He also puts a lot of focus on how you execute certain movements and he points out and corrects even the slightest mistakes in your movements. Not sure how this would translate in recreational activities but there's really nothing you should worry about. He's a cool prof overall but this would be his last semester teachingmore

Hes super duper chill😎 i have never tried table tennis before yet i thoroughly enjoyed his class cos i rlly got to learn :> i suggest u take table tennis w a friend because he asks u to choose your partner for the entire sem na. For the doubles games, he pairs someone from group a and someone from grp b. I guess the only con is his modules on canvas r super gulo :/also dont be fooled by the flex label on table tennis! All of our sessions were onsitemore

had her for genetics lec and she wasnt that bad as long as u have the reference at the back of ur mind discussions were very slow since she finishes her decks with 200+ slides each, making us study at least 8 chapters of the book for our finals. she also likes calling students to explain concepts from previous lectures for her assessments, we had 3 long exams, a few quizzes, and canvas assignments, and she checks them *kinda* fast. i dont think she curves tho ur reference is ur bible talaga and be on her good side so it will be easier for u hehe B+/A-able if ure good in memorizationmore

Honestly A-able as long as you memorize everything from her slides, quizzes and exams are easy enough. Assignments are basically free. Didn't really like her as a lecturer, kinda felt like I could have cut all of her classes and gotten the same grade just from reading slides and her discussions move really really slow. Least favorite class but again, super doable reqs. If you just memorize everything from her slides, especially stuff you think won't come out, you'll probably get a B+ or A.more

I’m gonna be as objective as possible while writing this because I’ve taken her several times over the years. - She’s really a brilliant woman, definitely, one of the most knowledgeable about genetics in the faculty if not in the Philippines. So she knows her stuff and can answer any question you have about genetics. - Her exams were do-able. I studied hard and aced her exams. They’re not too difficult to ace but you will definitely fail if you try to cram all the topics overnight. Sometimes you’ll find the answers to the questions on other parts of her exams lol. Oh also one time we were taking the exam and she kept saying the answers out loud accidentally. -She’s a bit impatient, though I’ve heard she used to be way stricter and used to have a shorter fuse. She gets mad at the class if a lot of people are talking, aren’t reciting, or have cut. That’s another thing, DONT CUT AND LIE. Someone once cut midway through her lec and came back during lab and lied to her and she yelled at him. -Her material is difficult to study because it’s so dense. So I highly recommend studying the textbook because she gets her material from there. -As was mentioned previously, it can be kind of messy. We jump from one topic to another but the flow won’t make sense. But if you keep up with her and the textbook you’ll be fine. -She’s one of the older faculty members so her style of teaching can feel outdated? Esp for the younger batches. But I can say that she cares a lot about your learning. Like I consulted her all the time and she was just pleased to know we cared to learn. -Overall A-able with effortmore

hala goodluck as her beadle now in Bio 130.01 (genetics), you can pass (or even A) if you read the whole book (Klug et al, 2017).. Her slides are very.... colorful HAHAHA pero mostly copy paste from the book so like just study the book and you'll be fine LMAO nasigawan niya ako (or kami) sa class a few weeks ago since may magulo sa schedule namin and we wanted to move our LT... pero I guess she got agit and got mad... g lang naman ako don but it was unecessary to get mad ☹️ She quite an institution teacher and she knows her theoreticals talaga... may temper lang minsan so just watch our for thatmore

vouch! more on the ppts, ang ~20 pages sa book, magiging 200+ slides sa ppt ✊ so i jus read the book as she’s discussing as for reqs, we had dbs, probsets, quizzes, lts. all objective. for dbs and probsets, doable in a couple hours, google-able, more or less nasa book lahat. for quizzes and lts, mahilig siya magbigay ng short essays, kahit 1 sentence basta kumpleto, full points na. A-able, not enjoyablemore
