Had him for 9 units (Multivariate Calc, Prob, and OR) and was my IPS Moderator (I’m BS MA Batch 2020). Always uses powerpoint (so always write quickly and read it). Another tip (as with any math subject) is answer exercises (from books or previous LTs).more

I hope my comment isn't considered obsolete because I had him for FILI 11 in 2018 as a freshie. Sir Claros is among the Fil Dept's GOATs. Relatively young, relatable, and knows his material well. He does have a heart of a teacher. He is in fact a high school teacher which is his main job until now, I think. From what I recall, he does research on literature, narrative, critical studies, and the like, which is aligned to his master's degree he finished in the Ateneo, so I believe he can give a lot of information and contextualization aside from what Pasakalye, your book for FILI 12, already provides. A with notable effort (ofc), and that effort includes speaking and writing Filipino befitting a college student (after all, this is still a Filipino class), and he does deduct points due to grammar or word choice faults, but he's not a grammar nazi. No matter your grade from him, tho, what matters is that you'll leave his class knowing that you did learn something. Good luck!more

One of the best profs I've had. Lectures were always interesting, conversational, socially conscious. The workload is manageable and he is super compassionate and approachable :)more

^He also gives out a lot of outside class work like attending seminars and stuff, usually with a reaction paper in tow. Overall a lot of extra cred.

Unson is a really boring prof. for Es12 (Lab), and she's very traditional in the sense that she treats you like a high school student by scolding you for being noisy, confiscating your things like cards, etc. Also you'll have to work hard in her class to please her. I managed to get an A thanks to me and my lab groupmates working really hard.more

Claveria is easy A! As long as you read the book since he doesn't really teach hahaha his lectures are legit 5% of the chapter. (The book will teach you more than he will!) He's boring!! But he's super chill & gives a lot of free cuts. He's nice & funny sometimes when he makes jokes or tells stories. His finals are optional! And his curve is SO real. :)more

sir jude is actu my goat!! I took him for chem 30.12 and even then he’s a super chill and understanding prof. I remember being worried when I would do certain procedures wrong while he was watching but he’d just joke ab it and coach u to get it done correctly :> I actu have heard he’s a lot more lenient and understanding for gen chem so ur def in good hands!more

Claveria is the easiest A you'll ever get, especially if your classmates win the quiz bee XD that means everyone's exempted from final exams hehe

A-able! listen to his pre-lab discussions kase you can really get a lot from that. also, remember to read the lab manuals before class kase there are pre-lab quizzes. be SPECIFIC when answering pre-lab and post-lab questions. in terms of grades, parang fair naman. fairly high as long as you just show na you understand what you’re doing and you’re actually putting effort sa class. overall goated teacher. sometimes scary kase sobrang nonchalant niya. pero you're in good hands and madami kang matututunan 🫶more

goods!!!! did not get him for chem 21.12 but had him for chem 122.02. he grades reasonable naman (and comments on outputs timely so you know where you can improve w/ prelab & postlab). he alsoo is goes around the room and observes students (he’ll ask you anong hinahanap mo or ano ginagawa mo HAHAHAHA kaya mahuhuli k if you don’t know the procedures ganyan). A-able basta alam mo procedures and concepts behind it 🫶🏻more

Anonymous member we got pre lab quizzes, pre lab report, worksheets, and then finals. the product is also graded based on quality, quantity, and naming. yung pinakamarami na partners will get 4 points, then 3, then 2. pre lab quizzes were the most difficult for me, cause hindi ko na inaaral yung lab manual. so you should study the lab manual (the lesson part) before every lab session. in terms of worksheet, he's very considerate naman and gives bonus points. lab final exam also, he gave us like 10 bonus items, which is equivalent to 20 points. very hands-on na prof and patient. don't make him mad lang. a-able af.more
