If you’re super close minded and you’re also against same sex marriage and agree with women being subordinate to men, you should totally take her!!! If you also want constant unreasonable requirements that take you back to high school (role playing, poster making, etc) then go for it! But honestly, her class was the most traumatizing class i’ve ever taken. We only had around 2 synchronous classes the entire quarter, yet her standards are SO HIGH. Plus, it feels like her requirements are neverending. Every single week she has these insane requirements that take up so much time and effort its actually insane. Her rubrics for the outputs are also unfair (e.g either 20 or 0 lang yung score mo). I got a B+ from her, and tbh you can get a good grade in her class. But the effort and trauma the class caused me really isnt worth it. Also, 4 of my classmates dropped out of her class in the middle of the quarter.more

I would also like to add that she’s incredibly rude. She replies very disrespectfully, cuts zoom calls bigla, and sometimes she doesn’t even bother replying. Her comments are also unnecessarily condescending and well tbh everything she says is. I swear her class is not good for your mental health in every way. Very anxiety inducing too, especially if you’re somebody who has traumas associated with that. Worst educator I’ve ever experienced in all my school life.more

U need to be in class always and her rubric is so gulo. Like u really dont know what she’s looking for + she deducts if u have wrong footnotes or citations and stuff. I actually asked for help regarding the format of the citation from her previous students who got it right and she still marked it wrong. Got my lowest grade of college so far from hermore

It's fine taking her, but you gotta make sure you: 1. Go to class on time. 2. Brace yourself for what she's about to teach. 3. Be prepared to puppet, or at least regurgitate, her notes. I once approached her after class asking about some points in the discussion (such as vaccines somehow being made from aborted babies, and there being a secret cabal that does eugenics on the population-at-large.) She brought out "alternative facts" unironically. I got an A, but I hated the class and I hated myself for it. I would like to know how she gets away with teaching those, but I fear that I wouldn't be able to handle the sheer crazy it might come from. Also turned me away from religion for a bit. Had to get the CMO's help for that one.more

Good reading materials but strict (like she had us email her in case we missed a class kahit online and she’s expecting a “valid” reason). She’s biased when she checks papers. :(( It’s possible to get A/B+ but her standards are really high. Good luck! :((more

Hmmm I didn't have a bad experience with her, actually. I think the most important thing is cite from the Bible, cite from a Theological reading, then give an example of a personal experience relating to the thesis statement so that you make her feel like you understand the thesis statement. While I personally don't agree to some of her beliefs, I did find her class educational regarding annulment and Catholic marriage in the Philippines. I think I was not really affected by her because I understand that she has her own principles and beliefs so for me, it's just strictly a teacher-student setting and I don't take it personally if she mentions.... controversial topics. I'm not sure how she is in an online setting but I assume it's just like the things she required in F2F before. I remember we had to summarize into 3 points each reading she gave for the day? Also, she doesn't allow late students, so come to class on time. Hmmm, what else... I think, that's it!more

Hell. Pain. Didn't enjoy her in particular, but the class was okay overall bc of my groupmates and classmates. Find a group early on and make sure all of you share notes, annotations, and reviewers as often as you can. Also make sure to treat orientation as a series of quizzes because everything she asks from you (i.e. signing up for groups, recollection, introductory questions) is given the weight of a quiz. Maam gave us opportunities to bump our grades up, so keep an eye out for those as well. It's really useful, especially for occasions when you are absent and you miss a quiz since she doesn't give make up classes. Maam Borja is really funny if you think of her as the drunk boomer tita who just says whatever. Don't take what she says seriously because it almost definitely will be a flavor of offensive. Ma'am is strict in a lot of things, like attendance, grading, and (jfc) citation, but she isn't exactly mataray. More on passive aggressive na pwede bolahin. Be early every session because she will mark anyone even a MINUTE late as absent. Just remember you have six cuts, so make the most of them. She's also very technologically inept, so expect a lot of work if you end up as her beadle. Here's my orals script for her class, hope it is useful! View all 7 replies don't panic, cuz it's honestly not as bad as u might think... shes just rlly passive aggressive and some of her opinions can be disagreeable. also shes strict with formats n stuff. but i slept her entire class almost while sitting in the very front and got a B so i'll take it o7 she presents herself as a sweet tita and also her lectures are like relaxing and soothing bedtime stories for me to zzz... also she's considerate of ppl with serious medical conditions as well especially if u send official notification+med cert from my experience. tbh her lectures barely have anything to do with the stuff she puts in the quizzes, but u rlly need to study the stuff she posts on canvas. the oral exam was a bit brutal tho. i swear i was writing notes in my sleep during her class lol make sure to recite every meeting, and always keep ur test papers (she tells u to do this) in case u need to make a case for ur grade/there's a mistake w/ computation. never forget ur 1/4 pad rin she only accepts those & u need it every session. quizzes are usually like a few sentences. make sure to use the right words and especially use keywords. also wrong spelling is wrong. watch those canvas vids like theyre gospel write everything down i remember my classmates n i read/heard that she grades low but its not the same for everyone, also i think she had to pull grades up bcoz of how low she grades (not sure tho). ig make sure she remembers u and try to get on her good side which from my experience is the usual when taking profs with freedom to grade subjectively. so always recite and sometimes try to talk to her / ask interesting questions after class (and during) looking back, the work wasn't as heavy as i thought it would be. all in all u should have a great experience with ur groupmates tho! and maybe shared trauma i'd say A-able with effort, not rlly blood sweat and tears level tho. loved her class as my designated pass-out time and gratrful she let me do thtmore
