Anonymous member 957 Hi May I ask for his teaching style, workload, and assessments pls?
We usually had an assigned reading for the day, which we would go through and discuss together. Our professor often asked for insights or guided us through the readings. Sometimes, we had group work or Quizziz. So I really suggest doing the reading. It’s usually just a poem or a story but sometimes, there would be a few long ones. There were only a few assessments and some group tasks—no traditional quizzes or tests, just a departmental midterm, a final paper, and easy module activities. We also had a notebook for our homework and in-class work. I’d say the workload is manageable; it’s really just the readings and the final paper that take up some of your time. The midterm was a departmental literary text analysis. He’s very fun and engaging! Probably the best professor I’ve had this year. As someone who’s not naturally strong in writing, reading, or analysis, I learned so much from him. In terms of grading, we could earn plus points for recitation, and overall, he was generous with grading and gave opportunities for bonus points. We transitioned to online classes towards the end, which was a bit sad because I really enjoyed his onsite sessions. It’s a chill class and you’ll definitely enjoy it. A-able!more

hi! technically i didn’t get an A sa class nya pero B+ so close enough HAHAHAHA
i would say his standards aren’t high but he knows what he wants 😭 he’s looking usually for a specific term or concept to be mentioned. my advice is to use the guide questions on canvas to help u review when doing ur readings! he also includes the pages where u can find the answers. it helps you to know what to focus on pero read the whole thing pa rin kasi minsan he’ll ask something outside of the pages he highlighted.
for orals, it’s good to have a mix of readings and lecture discussions so i highly encourage you to take notes during class kasi sometimes what he’s looking for na-mention lang during the lecture 😅
overall it’s a bit hard to get an A but i think as long as u do the readings and take notes u should be finemore
